57) Nintendo Switch

It was either I do this episode or create a third podcast where I talk about gaming. I don't have time for a third podcast, so I made this episode. In it, I discuss things from the announcement of the Switch, my history with it, the different games I like and don't like, as well as ponder the future of Nintendo.

[00:00:01] Good morning, look back at the digressor. This is Trevor and this time we're talking about the Nintendo Switch. I know it's a very broad topic, but yeah, I've been wanting to make a third podcast I have two currently. This one's my main one, the digressor.

[00:01:04] And I have a side one if you don't know, called Castle Blaga, that's a movie podcast. I have a total of five I want to do. I only have time for two and I barely have time for that.

[00:01:21] I'm wanting to do, I'm wanting to have a gaming podcast, but I don't have time. There are so much gaming content I want to talk about. So yeah, I kind of made a compromise. I'm like, I want to do an episode on a game.

[00:01:42] I'm like, what game do I do? I already did a Zelda episode. Like what, because I'm playing like three main games currently and I can do an episode on each one of those. I was like, yeah, let's just do an episode on the Switch in general.

[00:01:57] Because that's the only console I currently have. So, and there's lots of things about the Switch I've been wanting to talk about for a while. I just didn't know where to slip it in. So this is kind of a general Nintendo Switch episode.

[00:02:18] Talking about the Switch itself and games on the Switch. Keeping mine, I don't play every single game on the Switch. So this is going to be my personal experience with the Switch. So I know there's a lot of things that people like you hear Switch.

[00:02:38] A lot of people think like all the Pokemon games are like fire emblem and all of that and the sports games like Mario, striker and I don't play all of that. I mean, I like Pokemon.

[00:02:56] I actually own Arcus and I'm wanting Scarlet and Violet, but I don't have that yet. Literally all of my friends on the Switch whenever I say it says like one day, literally said five people were online and I was like, oh, that's a lot of people.

[00:03:15] And I look every single one of them was playing the Pokemon Scarlet or Violet and all of them, everybody that's online right now and ever since the game came out, it's playing Scarlet and Violet. I want to play it.

[00:03:30] I want to buy it but I chose differently, but I'll get to that. I kind of want to go back and talk about the beginning. I'm going all the way back to the beginning. So okay, where do I want to consider the beginning? We Hugh.

[00:04:01] Let's talk about Wii U. I had a Wii. I liked the Wii that we was fun and then when I released the Wii U, I'm not going to lie. I like most people or I don't know about most people but like the general public.

[00:04:17] I didn't even realize it was supposed to be the next thing. I thought it was, I thought the Wii U was the tablet. I honestly thought that was like an attack, my next accessory for the Wii because that's how they marketed it.

[00:04:35] They marketed it as, you know, the here's the tablet and so I, and the console itself actually looked like the Wii. So again, I thought it was the tablet. It's like, oh, okay. It's how much as an accessory.

[00:04:55] And then obviously I've eventually realized that it was a whole new console, but it, it was an, I never owned one. It's so far to this day is the only Nintendo console I never owned.

[00:05:09] So I still wanted one because, you know, it was an Nintendo console like Nintendo. You know what? More than that. I don't just like Nintendo. I like gaming. I honestly don't care what system it is. I actually, I tried to order an Wii U.

[00:05:27] When that was, when that was a thing, but like it was, it wasn't that it was too expensive. It's just I never had the money. I think it was only like $100, which again, doesn't sound like much, but like,

[00:05:46] I always had to choose between rent and food back then. So I didn't have it, I didn't have enough for $100 console. So yeah, I know everyone makes fun of that today. That's like, oh, yeah. But like, I wanted one because it was another gaming console.

[00:06:06] Like I don't care that it was made fun of that, you know, what I hear. I know one person at own one and he said it wasn't worth it. He said it was a piece of garbage. It's like, I don't care.

[00:06:19] I wanted one because it was a gaming console. I want to game. It's like I said in my console wars episode, I don't believe in console wars because I don't know a lot of people are like, PlayStation's better Xbox is better Nintendo's better.

[00:06:39] And I'm just over here like, I want to game. I don't care what it's on. I play mobile games. If I had a PC that would run it, I would play PC games. My laptop gets hot when I play Minecraft. Or I played Ori and the Blind Forest,

[00:07:01] which is a very, you know, it's not a simple game, but it's a side scroller, a two-d side scroller with decent graphics for a side scroller. And it lagged on that. So I can't really PC game right now. And I get why the, there's no,

[00:07:27] the PC master race and then they're all PC gaming. So period I get it because they always say, modding you can mod games. I don't know if I'm just boring, but I kind of prefer playing the game the way it was intended.

[00:07:47] I don't know if that's just me. Like they added the ability to have mods on the Xbox version of Skyrim. And I didn't really do it. I used one mod just to kind of see what it was like, but then it like it turned off achievements

[00:08:09] and it was like, I want those achievements. So I didn't use them. But not just because of the achievements, that was a big factor in it, but I, yeah. I don't really care about mods. I just wanna play the game. I'm sure if the switch version of Skyrim

[00:08:35] had the same thing where like the creation cloud, no way that's Adobe. The crap, I forgot what it's called. It had, you know what I'm talking about maybe. If the switch version had that where you can actually use mods and all that, I would probably use it.

[00:08:57] I don't know. I probably wouldn't use it. I don't know. It's not a freeality I live in. So maybe in a different timeline, it exists. Anyway, back to Wii U. It's the only one I didn't own. I would have, I probably would have,

[00:09:16] but again it was too expensive. I owned the Wii only because it was $15. I paid $15 for the Wii at a pawn shop. I don't know why they had it so low, but I saw, is that an error? Is that meant to be price at 15?

[00:09:47] The guy there was like, it's an old guy. He was like, yeah, it's $15. And I don't know if he knew what it was, but I didn't try to correct him. Like actually that is, yeah, no. I was like, okay, I'll take it.

[00:10:06] And yeah, that was a very good console. Very underpowered, but it didn't need to be super powered. Like again, like I said, I play mobile gaming, games don't have to be like super advanced, high graphic, whatever to be fun. Like I literally, I literally play,

[00:10:36] like Tetris, I play Tetris on my phone. I can't, I play a game called I love Hugh, which is like very, very basic. It's like graphically very basic. It's just like colors and like it rearranges and it doesn't have to be super advanced, to be fun.

[00:10:55] And I don't know why people don't understand that. Like when people, they try to say that Xbox and play spaces, the superior console, they're always like, it has the terror flaps and I was like, I don't know, and I was just making up terms.

[00:11:11] Like that's not a thing. Like I'm sure I'm sure it is a thing, but like I, that's not something I care about. It's like sure, some of these games are coming out now. It looks super realistic and amazing. They look incredible and breathtaking,

[00:11:33] but it usually doesn't really affect the gameplay. It's like a fun feature that's not really important in the end. It's really important in the end. And it's part of the reason some people make fun of an atonement and put it down, because they're underpowered.

[00:11:53] They're not graphically the highest things. They're not really competing with Xbox and PlayStation. Xbox and PlayStation over here directly competing with each other, head to head. And it turns this off in the corner doing it's doing it down thing and thriving.

[00:12:15] And what's funny is I think Sony's the only one I actually compete, they're trying to compete. Xbox is, I don't know if anyone, I don't know if you've seen whoever you are listening. Check out Xbox's Twitter account because they're kind of in the mindset I am like,

[00:12:36] I don't care what's this, it's in. I don't care what's this and I just want to game. They like the Xbox Twitter account, they like whatever Sony has, I never play station has like a major release or a major like a accomplishment or something.

[00:12:54] Xbox will tweet out, congratulating them or like good luck on this, whatever. Like congratulations on the God of War selling 5 million in a week or something like that. Like Xbox will literally say, they literally did a post few years ago. I had like every console.

[00:13:15] It has a, I forgot what the post was exactly, but they have a picture of like every console, a current console and said whatever you game on make sure that you, it's, I don't remember, but like they embrace the entire gaming community. They don't try to say,

[00:13:33] oh we're better than PlayStation or whatever, meanwhile, PlayStation is like, we're not like Xbox because we do, we have all these exclusives. Yeah, PlayStation has way too many exclusives, but you know who else has a lot of exclusives? Yeah, I digress away from Nintendo.

[00:14:00] So back to the Wii U. I remember back in those days when the Wii U was the current console and Nintendo just can make a mistake after mistake after mistake. And I understood they were going for a family friendly vibe, especially kids friendly,

[00:14:21] but they were going too kid friendly. And it was to the point where people were saying, you know, Nintendo might not continue as a gaming company, like they might not continue with a hardware company. They might do like Sega where Sega was making hardware

[00:14:40] and now they just make software. They haven't been a Sega console since the Dreamcast and people were saying, oh yeah this is the, this is the end for Nintendo, but then they announced, they made an announcement an upcoming something that Nintendo in X, what is it? Nobody knew.

[00:15:07] But the Nintendo kept saying, this isn't going to replace the Wii U. This is its own separate thing. I remember, I don't know if it felt like a year, but it was like a really long time at all of us were like what is the NX?

[00:15:25] Even at E3 and all those things on the year previously in 2016. And when they announced, like when they announced just a dance, they would list all the consoles that was going to be on. They said Nintendo in X. So it's like, we know that was just a codename

[00:15:45] but on official things like the just dance advertisement and like all the other things, it was listed as Nintendo NX. So it's like, is that the official title? I mean that, it's kind of a dumb name, but I mean it's, I remember the date October 20th, 2016,

[00:16:12] they released the announcement video, the first look at Nintendo Switch. They announced the name is like Nintendo Switch. And I, even watching the trailer, I couldn't grasp what was like going on. Like I could, because it was such a new concept at least to me.

[00:16:42] Now there's some people like, oh I predicted this month or a year ago. This is just like the blah blah blah. In the announcement trailer, there's a guy playing the new Zelda game and then he takes apart his controller and slides him onto the console

[00:17:07] and pulls it up from the dock and then it's showing on the tablet. And I'm like, what? And I had to watch it like three or four times and I was like no this, how does that even make, because it was such a foreign concept to me.

[00:17:28] Like I was like this, this doesn't even make sense. It was a high bread. It's kind of funny to look back on that now because it's such, Nintendo Switch is such a common thing now. It's like well of course, it's a hybrid. Like how else?

[00:17:51] It's like the first time you heard of an iPod, it's like you could fit a thousand songs in your pocket. Yeah. But they also, it was released. It launched with Breath of the Wild and that I already did an episode on Zelda. So I won't talk about that.

[00:18:15] I didn't guess which until COVID actually. When I got my tax return, I bought my Switch in April 2020. And yeah, I bought, I, hey it's me editing in the future. That's kind of slipping this in. Me being silent at this point,

[00:18:53] I was thinking, it's not like way that it doesn't make sense because I usually get my tax return and I'm like favorite, very wide it. I wait till April to buy it because the timeline didn't make sense but I just kind of went with it.

[00:19:06] Turns out when I went back and looked later, I used the COVID relief stimulus thing. I ate forgotten about that. So that's what I use. So yeah, I ordered, I ordered the console on Amazon and I also bought five games.

[00:19:30] I bought Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, Link's Awakening, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey, and just Dance 2020. Those were my original games and they arrived before the console got here. So I spent, it took like a week for the console to get to me.

[00:19:59] It was kind of annoying because I had these games and I'm just staring at like, I'm like, but yeah, it finally arrived. And what's the first thing I did? If you would think the first thing I would do is pop and breath of the wild,

[00:20:21] Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart? No. The first thing I did because I also did the, I hear of the Nintendo Switch Online. So I got the NES and Super NES things. I didn't play the physical games. First, the first thing I did was

[00:20:53] play the adventures of Lolo on NES Online because out of all of those games on there, that one is probably the most nostalgic and I'm surprised they even had it because no one ever heard of it. When I would tell people, they were like,

[00:21:13] what's your favorite NES game? And I'll go adventures of Lolo and everyone's like, what's that? So when I went looking through the games and like a court course, there was gonna be legend, Zelda, Mario, all these games. And then I saw, eventually to Lolo and I'm like,

[00:21:28] oh my God! No, I'm freaking out. There wasn't even the whole lot of games that the fact that they included that was amazing. And a course on this super NES version they had, they had linked to the past and that's one of my favorite Zelda games

[00:21:50] even now and so I just played the heck out of that. Of course, I eventually got to the physical games. I spent a lot of time on Breath of the Wild. I quickly beat Mario Odyssey and yeah, I now have, okay, switch is the only console

[00:22:19] I actually buy physical games for. For PlayStation and Xbox, I buy digital. Switch, I buy physical because it has limited storage. I now have 26 physical games. So, and digitally, I have 285. Yeah. So, I guarantee you I haven't played about half of those games.

[00:22:55] When I first got to switch, I actually went through and I looked at all their free games and I, let me say, but download it pretty much all of them. And I love their sales, like literally they'll have games on sale for like six cents.

[00:23:19] I literally saw a game on there and so for one cent. And they have amazing sales on there. So, there's a lot of games that I buy on sale like that. They're not even necessarily good games. There's just, there's a lot of games I bought

[00:23:36] for like less than a dollar and I play for five seconds and I'm like, oh yeah, this is garbage. Basically, I did that so much. I have almost 300 games and most of it's just games that bought on sale to pad out my library.

[00:23:53] Because I have like almost 600 Xbox games and like 400 PlayStation games. So, because I've had those longer and I've only had the switch like two years. So, yeah, I had some catching up to do. Up until I bought my switch, I kept hearing people talking about drift.

[00:24:17] The Joy-Con drift. And apparently, it was such a big issue that even Nintendo themselves apologized. They publicly apologized for the drift. I had no idea what these people were talking about because I didn't have any issue. I didn't have any problems.

[00:24:37] I don't know what they meant by drift and I saw videos of people who are like, the characters are running to the left and I'm like, so, don't let them run to the left. So, for the first year that I had my switch, no problem. Totally perfect.

[00:24:57] And then I started having drift. I set my Joy-Con's down and on my character started running to the left. Oh, the guy! Wait a second! What is that happening? And then I understood. It just kept getting worse and worse and worse. I even have a TikTok video

[00:25:20] where I was playing Sky Children of the Light. And my character was just running. And I was like, my drift is really bad. How bad? And then I like pulled the phone back to reveal that I wasn't even touching the Joy-Con. I wasn't touching the switch at all

[00:25:38] my characters running. And it happened at the time like on Animal Crossing and on the menu. Oh, you know what? It's a fun game. One of the, a fun game on the switch isn't even a game. It's called Fight the Drift on the dashboard.

[00:25:58] Because one way to temporarily fix the drift is to go to the controller settings and then like re-assign the Joy-Con or the Pro Controller. But the problem is if the drift is too heavy or basically fighting the drift as you're trying to select the controller, the controller menu,

[00:26:23] the icon on the dashboard. A lot of times you'll accidentally select like the store or the screenshot or the power button or whatever. As you know, so yeah, the final blow on my switch came last year about a year ago actually.

[00:26:50] I was, I was, I was gonna say I was gonna explain who Emory was but if you've been listening to this podcast, you know exactly who Emory is. I was living with them for six months last year and I was upstairs and I accidentally dropped the switch

[00:27:13] and it bounced down the stairs all the way to the bottom. Unfortunately, their staircase is carpeted but it still did some damage. Even though at first I didn't notice because it was unscathed like there wasn't any cracks or anything and I'm like, oh okay that was close.

[00:27:40] But with the thin a few hours, the fan started making loud noises and the drift got really bad on both Joy-Conj was because before it was only on the left and now the right one is doing it. So you just kept getting worse and worse

[00:27:58] into the point where the couple months ago, the switch was this completely unplayable because the drift in both Joy-Conj was so bad and the fan would go, oh, sometimes. And I ended up buying a switch OLED just to replace it and what's funny is

[00:28:25] I'm so used to the drift that just out of habit I'm like fighting the non-existent drift on the dashboards. I'm like I'm quickly going like when I'm on the dashboard I'm like quickly going to whatever I need to do so like before the drift happens

[00:28:41] and there's no drift. Because I'm just so used to it. But yeah, the OLED model is it's basically the same. Like there's I don't know why I was expecting something different. It's literally the exact same which it's fine. I mean, it's what it is.

[00:29:03] It's this the OLED model, the only difference is the screen. The screen is bigger but I basically keep the switch docked. I only, I very rarely un-dock it and take it anywhere so the bigger screen really has no effect on me at all.

[00:29:30] So the only benefit of having this is no drift for now because apparently the same issue that caused the drift is in the OLED model. So apparently from what I hear, it's an easy fix. There's a YouTuber who actually has a video of himself fixing it apparently.

[00:29:53] From what I understand from his video, the reason for the drift is I don't even understand this entirely and just going basing it entirely on what he says and I saw the video like three years ago. So my memory isn't that great

[00:30:13] as you know if you've listened to this regularly. Under the analog sticks, there's like a millimeter space and what he does is take the thinnest piece of paper or something, slighted between that empty space and that thick is the drift. And Nintendo could easily do that

[00:30:39] but they don't. They each use an apology. But that's it. And of course, that's just based on my memory of a YouTube video I watched three years ago. So I could be completely wrong. I most likely am. So there's another thing I saw a while back

[00:31:05] like a couple years ago. It was about the duck. It was kind of confusing. Apparently, I keep saying apparently, I just realized that. So there was saying that the duck on the original switch was discontinued, which doesn't make sense. You can buy a switch but not the duck.

[00:31:34] If they ever do a switch pro, I have an idea for the duck or something they should have done for this. For the first place for this because the duck and it's cool and everything but it doesn't really do anything

[00:31:54] except hold the system and you plug it in. It's so simple that there's, I've actually seen people that got really creative. They actually took a part of their duck, took the components of it. It's basically just like a motherboard type thing.

[00:32:11] And made their own duck and they were got really creative. But that's also kind of shows how pretty much pointless the duck is. There's not pointless, it's just basic. So what they could do and I told other people this and they were like, actually, that's a good idea.

[00:32:35] So the reason that some of the, some of these games, they can't do, a lot of these games that come out for the switch. They can't really do like very high in graphics or anything too dramatic. Like what they did, Resident Evil Village, but it's cloud version.

[00:33:01] So yeah, it's not really on the switch. It's a cloud version which notoriously inferior. There's a lot of things that are hindrance to the switch because it's a hybrid. It's a, it's a TV console and a handheld console. And so their focus whenever they design it

[00:33:32] is on a handheld part. So even though I primarily play it docked, I'm basically playing with the limitations of a handheld. So my idea for the dock is basically a booster. I mean, that's a very basic way of just grabbing it

[00:33:59] but like a graphics booster or a signal booster. Some kind, something to kind of like beef it up so that whenever you dock it, it's like does like higher graphics and like better internet speed because everything is still running off the tablet

[00:34:20] and that could only do so much. There could be a way of improving everything if that makes sense. I'm not good at explaining things to people. I try to explain that to people but well, there's always rumors about a switch pro.

[00:34:46] Nintendo keeps denying it but I heard me a motto kind of hinted at some hardware upgrade coming in the future. I watch Switch Force. That's basically my main source for Switch News. There are other channels but Switch Force is my go-to

[00:35:14] and he was talking about how a Miyamoto had talked about kind of, I don't know if I like hinted at a hardware upgrade or talked about it or yeah. But it sounds like they're working on an updated or an upgraded switch.

[00:35:34] It sounds like exact from Switch Force actually said that if there is some new hardware in the near future next year or any time, it would most likely be like the Switch Pro would be like an updated version of what we have. So like everything's backwards compatible.

[00:36:00] It wouldn't be the next big thing would just be an updated version. It wouldn't be S which too or like the Wii Hute to the Wii or something. It would basically be, I wanna say like the new 3DS next to the 3DS

[00:36:21] but some of those weren't backwards compatible but it's like the same idea. It was like the same thing just better. I think some of them were backwards compatible. I don't remember. I had both at different times, but I know a lot of when I had the 3DS

[00:36:40] I know I got annoying, I owned it in 2016. I got annoying because there's a lot of times where I wanted a game and said, oh my, on the new 3DS but then there were other new games that I was able to play. So is it fully backwards compatible?

[00:36:58] Is it partially backwards compatible? Is it not backwards compatible? I don't know. Actually with the 3DS and the new 3DS that would be forward compatible. Is that a thing forward compatible? I don't know if that's a thing. That'd be like the 3, that Nintendo 3DS, the Xbox 360,

[00:37:29] playing the Xbox One games but it can't do that. I wonder what the next thing would be after switch because I don't know if the switch would be a permanent console, obviously it's not gonna be a permanent console. There's gonna be a next console

[00:37:48] but how do you move on from this? Because I don't know. We all thought the way in the Wii U that era and Nintendo had a certain style in that era where everything was like white and blue and silver and that was the theme of everything back then.

[00:38:09] And then the switch came out, everything's red and white and like all of those were just color schemes but there was a certain style at that time and we thought this is just how Nintendo is gonna be from now on. It's all this

[00:38:27] and then the switch came out and they just completely changed their style and it's like oh this is the new Nintendo style and it's like this is how it's always gonna be but that's what we thought during the Wii and Wii U era.

[00:38:44] So like, what's the next thing Nintendo's gonna do? That's what I'm kinda curious about. So I don't think we're not ready for that yet. I mean I on switch force they did a video the other day where like the switch life is just beginning because Nintendo had said

[00:39:04] this is gonna be a tinier console. Like the life of the switch is gonna be tiniers but I don't know if they can do that. I'm sure they can because most consoles last about six years will like the generation, like the release of console

[00:39:24] and then like six or seven years later they'll release the next one but they'll keep releasing games for the old one. So systems usually last roughly 10 years. Give or take. But like there's a new one and it's kind of overlaps. It's not the primary console the whole time.

[00:39:50] So I'm kinda curious what Nintendo plans to do. That's kind of a thing though, like Nintendo what they've been doing this year I'm not too thrilled with and I actually agree with most of what the switch force has been saying this year.

[00:40:09] Like before they were like for some reason this year specifically there's kind of like drip feeding us information like we barely got any directs this year and the ones we did get were kind of lackluster. Every now and then we'd get something interesting in the directs

[00:40:36] but like overall the directs weren't anything that special. Like there was one direct they did where like over half of them over half of the game announced were basically farming sims RPGs as like one I understand, two okay but like six or seven

[00:41:03] like most of these games are farming RPG farming sims it's like what that is a very oddly specific genre and you're primarily focusing on that and you know what we want to hear we want you to talk about Zelda we want you to talk about Pokemon

[00:41:20] we want you to talk about anything else they didn't give us what we wanted but eh it looks like 2023 might be different because again I say again I haven't even talked about it well for starting as we've got tears of the kingdom coming out

[00:41:47] and then there's the Mario movie which okay I'm not talking about the Mario movie for a second when they announced it I was like oh no and I saw who was making it it was the same studio that did just pickable me I was like oh no

[00:42:03] stirring the voice of Chris Prett oh no I was just like very disappointed and then they released that first trailer the first teaser my shirt and kingdom here we go like with everyone I was like at least Bowser's cool Jack okay when they announced the cast

[00:42:28] the only one I was not scared about was Jack Black as Bowser because Jack Black is you know he's a gamer he's I knew he was going to be good because he's good in everything there's he's never not good and sure enough when he spoke as Bowser

[00:42:49] I was like I can hear Jack Black but like I also can't you know if you know if you've seen the the teaser you know what I mean he's very that voice it's it's very good it's not it's not just Jack Black being Jack Black

[00:43:10] I mean it's him being Bowser it's amazing that was the only good thing about the trailer like that whole penguin scenes all this is amazing I think we see Mario and it's like oh and then they just released this new trailer this past week and I think

[00:43:32] like everyone universally was like never mind this looks amazing and I'm actually sold on Chris Pratt as Mario and there's one moment in the trailer that sold me on him it's in the Mario Cart scene first off when I saw the cart I literally was like oh

[00:43:57] I was like he's freaking out but the moment that sold me on him as Mario was there's like during that scene in the trailer when he goes wow whatever whatever he goes however he does it I was like that is Mario I don't care if it's Chris Pratt

[00:44:15] that was Mario that did that and I got to thinking about it and I think I'm kind of glad they're giving him this voice because like usually I forgot that who voice is Mario Charles something that gets into the name I've seen interview to them

[00:44:37] he's like really nice he's like the coolest guy and yeah I'm sure and it like in all the games where he talks it's usually just like like electrical or stuff like that like very short little phrases I'm sure like an hour and a half two hour movie

[00:44:59] it was like the high-pitched Mario we get really annoying very fast so now that I'm thinking about I'm kind of glad they gave him kind of a normal voice because that makes it tolerable I just kind of wish they had given it to a voice actor and not

[00:45:21] Hollywood A-Lister you know because the the entire castless is just A-Lister celebrities like Hollywood celebrities they didn't give it to any voice actors as far as I know ah not gonna lie I don't know who the Luigi voice Charlie something and the girl that does peach um Anna

[00:45:52] something I don't know them too those two I don't know and I yeah everyone's freaking out like oh yeah they're perfect for the roles and I'm like yeah I don't know who they are but I knew who the others were and I was like

[00:46:10] the only one I wasn't concerned about was Jack Black and Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong I was like as long as he doesn't do his laugh like I know that's kind of cliché to it's not like Seth Rogen's laugh I mean it has you know it's funny

[00:46:30] in certain context but like hmm I saw I saw the videos like a 10 hour loop of Seth Rogen laugh and I made it about 30 seconds no anyway so there's that there's going to be the Mario movie and here's the Kingdom and there's other games coming out next year

[00:47:03] and I okay I don't really care about all of them like I'm not a big fan of as we say elder scrolls I love elder scrolls I could do that but so um the indoor no I said the name earlier fire in bloom

[00:47:22] I'm not a fan of that and I said it before and it made people mad what do you hate fire in bloom like I don't hate it I just don't like it there's a difference it's like I've tried there's a mobile game because like Nintendo

[00:47:43] they have some mobile games and most of them is like simplified mobile versions of some of their big games like they have animal crossing pocket camp which is like even more water down version of animal crossing than then the new horizon was they have Mario Cart tour

[00:48:04] I think it's was it was the mobile version I play the house oh that is so simple that is like it was so simple that was boring I remember the very first mobile game that was super Mario run which I actually paid for because I think

[00:48:22] it's like the first world was free but you had to pay for the other worlds and I went ahead and I was like it's Mario on your phone and I beat all the worlds in like a week like not even it's only because

[00:48:38] that I still had a work and all that so like I didn't spend all my time on it so but like when I did spend I would like fly through all the levels because it was super easy barely in convenience and there's a few other

[00:48:58] games they have on there and that one of them is they have a fire emblem game and that's I played that and I thought it was okay and one of my friends she's like a big fan and was like oh if you love that then then you know

[00:49:14] this is like a very basic version of the actual game so like if you love that I didn't say I loved it I just said it was okay I don't only played it for a few days and like I can see the appeal and this is just

[00:49:30] talking about the mobile game I can see the appeal but it's not something I would personally be into and like I have looked into like the actual games and I've seen like gameplay footage it's not really my thing so again like I see the appeal

[00:49:53] but it's not for me that's not again I don't know why some people can't just accept that that's like again I'm not saying oh this game sucked with a worse piece of garbage no no no I'm sure they're fine games you know I hate that

[00:50:15] sometimes you have to like go into detail explaining that the people but some people are like if you don't say you absolutely love that love fire and if you don't say that thing is the greatest thing ever then you're saying it's the worst thing ever and you're horrible

[00:50:37] but no I've there's other things coming out next year and I don't know everything is coming out there's there's this one game that was there's this one game that was in one of the directs and to me it was the highlight I don't remember what the name was

[00:51:00] it's that one that took it looked like they took elements of Mario Odyssey and like expanded on it like you know like like the 2D world the 3D world the size growing and then they popped out the painting and I forgot the name of the game

[00:51:27] but it looked amazing and apparently like other people it's not the same thing because that like a lot of people were like oh this is this one looks amazing and I forgot the name of it but it was like it was like supposed to come up next year

[00:51:41] that's one when I remember the name I am buying that actually I'm going to look at the name so I just looked the game is called the Plucky Squire and currently it doesn't look like those are really state but it does look really good but with things like

[00:52:05] that like the future of the switch does look bright it's just hard to see sometimes because again Nintendo has been feeding us information on the future and I think part of it now that I'm thinking about it the last week or so now that we've registered and again

[00:52:27] information on things that are coming out next year and I'm thinking part of the reason they have been very limited on information this year is because of COVID and this is a theory I'm thinking because you know it takes a while to make games and everything when

[00:52:55] lockdown happened they had to maybe post-pone some things and everything that we've been getting all this time was like what was already in the pipeline on the way and then once that ran out it's like well there's nothing else we're right up and this

[00:53:26] dry spell we've been having from the to know is because they're slowly getting back because the we're in like the the effects of the lockdown now in my opinion in my opinion it's like this is just based on my personal observations I could be totally wrong so

[00:53:50] I mean yeah they could totally it might be a marketing thing maybe the thinking if we barely give them anything when we do give them something they'll spend all their money on everything but no oh speaking of spending all their money on on everything and tend to

[00:54:15] if you're listening to this which they're not going to listen to this and tend to if you're listening to this if you would somewhere games if you price them lower not everything has to be 60 dollars for example breath of the wild 60 dollars that makes total sense links awakening

[00:54:46] it's a great game it is a great game but it's a remake of a 30 year old game and it's price the exact same as breath of the wild in fact most of the Nintendo first party games are 60 dollars regardless of like content like everything is it's this automatic

[00:55:20] 60 dollars it doesn't make sense I mean I mean I know what they do it because you know money you got to make money they want to make money they want to make more money but I don't think they realize they would probably no they would definitely make more

[00:55:44] if they charge less because there's been times where I wanted like with this pokemon I get why those are 60 because you know it's Pokemon and it's like the biggest pokemon game in a while but it's a pricing thing for me I would have gotten it already

[00:56:04] if it wasn't a pricing thing of course again like I said bad example because it's Pokemon and it's like the biggest Pokemon game in a long time so that makes sense at 60 but there's other games that I totally would have gotten if it wasn't for the price like

[00:56:29] like Metroid dread that one I did eventually buy it but I didn't want to spend all that for I don't think it was 60 I think the reason I think it was on sale because I don't think I wouldn't have spent 60 on that so I love I think my

[00:56:51] even okay I haven't been actually I kind of rage quit it because yeah it's a very good game it's just kind of intense my favorite Metroid game even now is super Metroid that one it's even more than the Metroid Prime Games for some of like I like the

[00:57:17] Prime Games but I don't know the classics now are like everyone loves them and if I say that it's okay like if someone asked me my thoughts on Metroid Prime and I said it's okay I would be attacked court I just said it but it's on a podcast

[00:57:47] no one else is too so it's fine but yeah it's a bad game it was actually surprising that I knew it was a 3D game but I didn't know it was the first person game until I played it like the camera was panning around same as

[00:58:06] and it would be behind it and I'm like all right here we go wait why is it it's it's a first person so that was a bit of a shock I've only played the first one I haven't played the second third one I

[00:58:29] had borrowed it from a friend whenever I had I said the story before my neighbor and I a long time ago we swapped consoles they borrowed he borrowed my PS2 and I borrowed his game cube he owned Metroid Prime and so I played his copy

[00:58:48] and so that's the only one I've ever played and when they announced the trade prime for like everyone lost their heads and I was like oh okay cool that's one of those things were like I was happy for those people it's like Pokemon I'm a fan of Pokemon

[00:59:15] but not like a fan of Pokemon like I've barely played any like I have fans who could name every single Pokemon game and actual Pokemon they I've got much most of my friends are huge Pokemon fans and that was never me but like it's unlike with fire emblem

[00:59:44] were like I just don't care about it I actually like I like Pokemon and I've been wanting to get into it at this point it's like I think Pokemon is one of those things you've had to have grown up with because most of my friends who can name

[01:00:05] every Pokemon grew up with it and I think I saw something recently that was like a study as to that like 80 was like no see like a lot of these kids can name 80 percent of the Pokemon but can't name like 40 percent of the common wildlife animals

[01:00:27] or something like that and it's because like when you're young you're more impressionable and you see these Pokemon when you're a kid and it stays with you and I'm getting into it now and I'm 34 so I only know a few like pick it up and Charmander and P2

[01:00:51] and EV and like some of the I got a few others as I can't I can't know I can't have or memorized all of them and so like when they announced a new Pokemon game like I'm excited for my friends it's like when they announced Scarlet and Violet

[01:01:15] I was like I was cheering and I was like yay but like not because I was excited and I'm like yay I get to play any Pokemon I was excited for my friends because I knew my friends would be excited and they're all like static

[01:01:34] and as I said they're all playing it and like I do plan on getting it when they announced our case I sort of really know how to pronounce it I could be pronounced our CS I just say Arcus because it makes sense to me when I saw that

[01:01:52] I was like hey I want to play that and it's the first Pokemon game I actually bought and I got pretty far into it I eventually like I didn't consciously stop playing it it's one of those things where it's like I just stopped but not consciously

[01:02:10] I didn't intentionally stop playing it I always in my head it's like oh I'm going to go back to that someday I'm going to go back to that someday but like that's most games like I'll be really into a game and then I'll get a new game

[01:02:26] and start playing that and then I won't like months later I'll look back like oh right I was in the middle of that one if I were to like pop in Arcus right now I would be lost it's like oh how do I

[01:02:44] how do I throw a Pokemon I wouldn't start a new game because I was really far I was just trying to pick up where I left off and like try to figure out the controls as I go and I hate that that happens like every game

[01:02:58] that I start I don't want to not play it I don't want to stop playing it I want to keep playing it but then like they keep releasing games and I want to play every game that comes out it's like I don't know how actual reviewers do it

[01:03:20] like they'll get a game and they'll fly through it and type of review and they don't like they'll move on and never play it again and it's like I can't like I'm playing Sonic Frontiers I brought it I started playing it the night it came out

[01:03:36] I'm only on the third world I know those people that beat it that first day I'm only on the third world not because I can't beat it I don't consider myself a completionist but this is one of those games where I have to explore everything

[01:03:54] and there's so much to collect or so much to do but it's like it's not as activity filled as Breath of the Wild even though it's being considered it's being called Sonic Breath of the Wild it's take it's got clear influence from Breath of the Wild

[01:04:17] but it's not it's kind of the perspective of the thing some of the games on the Switch look amazing Sonic Frontiers looks amazing but it's glitchy like hack it's so glitchy and it both looks like a modern game will also kind of looking like a PS2 game

[01:04:42] it's weird like for example like look at Mario Odyssey like you can see like the individual strength of hair and Mario's mustache but then you look go to the Sonic Frontiers which is a newer game on the same hardware and Sonic is like one solid color and

[01:05:07] are those spikes is it hair I still don't know there's no individual but like then other things do have texture like his his gloves have like detailed textures and but he doesn't I don't know it's still a fun game I really like it why did I get on

[01:05:39] oh yeah Arcus let's talk about that ah and I forgot the what led anyway I get excited for my friends when they announce stuff like Pokemon games even though I'm I am a fan without being a fairy to explain that but it's different from like the Fire

[01:06:08] emblems series because like I at least know something about Pokemon and I have experience with that I've played a lot of the Pokemon games like when I said I had owned a 3DS and a new 3DS they had I bought on eBay

[01:06:26] and it had a bunch of those pre-installed like the Sonic X and Y and the Sun and Shield those were pre-installed because I bought I bought the 3 the new 3DS I bought came with like 75 games pre-installed it was very expensive but the selling point

[01:06:53] was that it came with these games so like I'm buying the console and all these games so it's like okay it's worth it and yeah it was there's so many games I wouldn't have played otherwise like I wouldn't have bought the most Pokemon game I did play two

[01:07:08] of them I played X and I played Sun but I didn't get very far I was like this is the I forgot which one it was and I was like all the Pokemon games like it's top down and like all of the games were like the same

[01:07:30] this with different graphics and then one of them on the 3DS the camera changed to behind you became a third person but it only wasn't a town when he went back out into the wild it became top down again and I was like what why wouldn't you keep

[01:07:48] in the game and that was interesting but you can only do that when you're like in a safe area in town you're not going to get attacked by a Pokemon in town but I think that was kind of the like the starting of where they are now

[01:08:12] because when I first saw the like the the advertising arcus literally my first thought was it just in town is it just in sort segments or is it the whole game it's the whole game but it's like the difference between that and like fire emblem I don't

[01:08:35] I've never I don't have any real experience with it I didn't grow up with it I think those are older games I think they were on like the older systems I don't really know but I also don't know people who are big fan of it

[01:08:47] that I know of see like with Pokemon it was like Pokemon my friends that are into it you know the ring to it they talk about it they post about it with fire ramble and that's not really thing that I see I don't really see people

[01:09:08] talking about it that much I see people I see the games advertise and like talked about and like advertisements and stuff something that it's kind of another thing that it's kind of like with much your hunter I'm not a fan of that either I have played

[01:09:28] a little bit of monster hunter world and I thought it was oh it was again it was okay it was kind of interesting but it's not something that like I that one I actually played less that I played a fire emblem on the mobile game version I played

[01:09:48] monster hunter world for about two hours and I was like it's interesting I know I didn't even get into the actual open world section. I was still following this character around and kind of getting into the game and I was like yeah no I'm sure

[01:10:11] had I you know kept going until like I took the open world section I would have enjoyed it but I don't know like you you don't have to get into the game and I guess again people don't seem to understand that there's so many games out there

[01:10:30] so many franchises so many series which yeah you're not going to be into every single one of them it actually be a little weird if you were into every single one of them so like I wasn't really into animal crossing until new horizon I think that's pretty

[01:10:51] common. I had a few friends and I was I was a where of it. The main thing I knew about is one of my best friends she was saying that it helped her with her anxiety like she would get anxious and she would pop

[01:11:05] in the game on her 3DS she played new leaf and that's what I would think of and I think of and we're crossing it's good for anxiety and I have bad anxiety so it's something that I was wanted I didn't come pre-installed on that 3DS to play it

[01:11:24] and I think again I didn't buy anything on the 3DS so when this announced this game for switch I bought whenever I bought the switch I made sure to buy that I didn't buy the physical version because one of my friends that she had like pre-ordered or something

[01:11:49] she insisted that I buy the digital version because she was like if you buy the physical one you're going to have to keep popping it out and popping it in if you want to play something else that digital one you can just like open it whenever

[01:12:05] even if something else is in and she was like something you want to open every day and if you don't want to pop games in and out too often so yeah I bought the digital version but I played that I played yeah I played animal crossing

[01:12:29] I still play it just not as much like my island is been terraformed so much it doesn't even resemble the original island I have this massive lake in the middle of my island and I have villagers that I really like like over half my villagers

[01:12:50] I will not part with and I could do an episode on animal crossing but probably would probably won't because again this is my first experience with animal crossing I know people who've played it from the beginning and I could have them as a guest

[01:13:09] and they would do all the talking so but yeah that is some of the series that I'm into or not into on the switch but there are some games I wish they would bring over one of them one of the series I wish they'd bring over is dishonored

[01:13:37] I actually never played a dishonored game until a couple years ago that I don't know I don't remember because it was on the Xbox I don't remember if it was a game with gold title that I got for free or how I got it but I own

[01:13:54] dishonored two and I played that and I immediately loved it I was like I love stuff games and those morality games I don't know if that's what they're actually called that's what I call them where someone told me the thing that sold me on dishonored is

[01:14:19] you can go the entire game without killing a single person not even the enemies or the I mean, of course not even the enemies including the bosses like if there's I don't remember if they said even the bosses but I don't think there's bosses like

[01:14:40] even like the main villain of the movie you don't have to kill and you don't have to kill anybody and that gives you that choice you have all these weapons but you don't have to use them you can use stealth

[01:14:54] you can stealth your way through the entire game and interact with almost everything and I was like this is too good to be true and then I played it the play the second one and this game is amazing it's like one of the best games I've ever played

[01:15:09] and and then I bought the first one after I had played the I didn't beat the second one I got I don't even know if it was like half way I got a good way in and then I bought the first one and

[01:15:25] I can see how they improved I've been improved on the mechanics and stuff on the second one I don't like playing sequels before the first one because usually they'll add stuff like mechanics and features so when you go back and play the older one it's like, wait

[01:15:43] this is where's like I played just 3 first and so when I went back I was like, hey where's the wingsuit? and my first Assassin's Creed I played with Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and then I played all of them up to up to Black Flag

[01:16:08] and then I went back and played the original Assassin's Creed and I had been spoiled by all the mechanics of the later games and I did not like the original Assassin's Creed I was like this game sucks I stopped playing it and then a couple years ago

[01:16:24] I went back and played it again with a fresh mindset and it was like, yeah okay, this game takes you pretty good because I had idea what Assassin's Creed was and what's annoying about people in Assassin's Creed they'll see the new games like Origins, Odyssey, Vahala

[01:16:46] and they'll be like that's not real Assassin's Creed I'm not gonna call it Assassin's Creed because of Assassin's Creed yeah I was kind of in that mindset back then because I had an idea like Assassin's Creed is like this and then I played the original game

[01:17:04] and I was like this is garbage and then after I played my my favorite Assassin's Creed game is Odyssey I beat it twice both times making different decisions and again, I got the no way I played it three times because I played it making my own decisions

[01:17:26] and I got like the semi-good ending and then I went out and get the best ending and then the worst ending so I made all the good choices and got the best ending and then the third playthrough I made all the worst decisions I got the worst ending

[01:17:44] and I was like an evil Cassandra and it was actually kind of funny but yeah, I loved that game into the point where it changed my perspective on Assassin's Creed so I went back to the game and I was like, I'm not sure if I could

[01:18:03] change my perspective on Assassin's Creed so I went back and played the first one and I enjoyed it better because that wasn't like held back by what I thought Assassin's Creed was and I just had a fresh take on it because I was used to all

[01:18:22] like the mechanics of the later games and that's why I didn't like it before it's like this is weak this is a lame and boring and you can't do this in this and that and I don't know but I went back and played it again

[01:18:38] I really liked it they have Assassin's Creed 2 through Rogue on Switch something I noticed on Xbox is that Assassin's Creed has been remastered for Xbox One except for the original because they have the XEO Collection which is Assassin's Creed 2 Brotherhood and Revelation and then there's Assassin's Creed 3 remastered

[01:19:16] Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag and Rogue were remastered but then there's also the Rebel Collection which I think that's only on Switch the Unity was originally released on one on Xbox One so they've all been remastered in our playable natively on Xbox One except for the original Assassin's Creed

[01:19:41] it is backwards compatible but they're all backwards compatible they've just all been remastered so they play natively instead of backwards comparatively that makes sense of improvement anyway if there's one series I want to come to the Switch it is dishonored because that series is amazing another game

[01:20:08] I wish they would add to the Switch but probably never happened but you never know is Fallout New Vegas that is my favorite Fallout game they could also add a couple of far cry games including that really ones those are great I played them all

[01:20:31] I own all of them on Xbox but again I only have a Switch so I can't play those I think the first three far cry games would be perfect for Switch because they're you know graphically they're very much compatible with Switch it's better than the first two

[01:20:56] the third one I'm sure it would be fine on Switch the fourth one maybe not maybe had to downgrade that one five and six definitely not now I think far cry blood dragon would also be great for Switch and I'm a big fan of far cry primal

[01:21:23] I don't know like the publics opinion on that game but I know I liked it I didn't think I would because it's like well you know and all these far cry games get all this advanced stuff which I'm not like super advanced stuff but it's in the present

[01:21:47] every time so you know set and like prehistory and it's not going to work but they made a work and it's a great game it's one of my favorite far cry games and I wish it was on Switch there's a lot of games I wish we're on Switch

[01:22:14] I mean they they ported over Skyrim which I mean that's understandable because the Skyrims on everything so a bunch of things they can port over a bunch of full game they managed to get like bio shot collection I bought that recently I only played the beginning part

[01:22:35] of the first one I mean I played all three but that was on Xbox since I bought it on Switch about a month or so ago I only played the intro of the first one they've also got borderlands oh it's I actually know the one I own

[01:23:02] I've been playing borderlands 1 and 2 and the pre-seekful I think I haven't actually played them I bought them and never touched them which now that I think about it yeah she probably played that I bought them like two years ago I installed them oh yeah

[01:23:25] something I forgot to mention earlier when I bought the OLED model I made sure to buy a terabyte because I had the 250 gig one and I kept having to delete games to put more one more games on it and so I'm getting the terabyte one and yeah

[01:23:43] I managed that 200 something that almost 300 games that I said I have because I make a list of every game I have I haven't had called Evernote and I use it every day for everything and I have a list of every game I have on every system

[01:24:03] I have a separate note note for every console on this OLED model that I have on the terabyte Marker Westy every game is installed and I'm not even using half of half of the space so yeah and that includes the borderland games and I haven't even played them

[01:24:31] actually I'm going to go through I'm going to list what games I own physically I'm not going to list every single game because like I said it's almost 300 so 285 games I am not listing that I will however list the physical games I have have all the assassins create

[01:24:53] I have a Assassin's Creed three remastered a Assassin's Creed the Etsy of Collection and Assassin's Creed the Rebel Collection if there's more I don't know oh yeah so I saw on the Assassin's Creed Odyssey Wikipedia page recently I saw that it's available on Switch and I got excited

[01:25:16] and I rushed over to the e-shop and like I am buying that is not available so I researched a little further it's available in Japan I know earlier I said Concentrated I would make an exception for that I would buy that I would download it

[01:25:39] I would have a fourth playthrough anyway Borderlands Legends Leg Gintaria Collection that's when I own I Elder Scrolls 4 Skyrim I might know crap. Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim, the anniversary edition upgrade I upgrade I didn't pay 70 because I bought the physical version. I was like I figured they would

[01:26:09] release the anniversary edition but then there was no announcement so I was like okay I bought the physical version and then like a week after I got it they announced the the anniversary upgrade I'm like oh come on but because of that

[01:26:25] I only paid 20 instead of 70 so that's that works. I've also got oh here's the one I'm surprised they even put on the on-the-system. Grants of Donald the trilogy the definitive edition I own that on switch. I saved scratch

[01:26:39] nitty and scratch nitty adventure. That one I didn't like I don't remember buying it I don't remember why I bought it but I liked it a lot more than I thought I would.

[01:27:01] I'm a huge fan of I sage. There's five of them I think now five movies and I like every one of them. There's not a single one of those movies I think it's bad.

[01:27:17] There's a new one that just came out there's a spin-off. I haven't seen it yet I'm kind of nervous but yeah I even like the I sage game that I have. It's more in like more advanced than you would think. It's okay it's kind of plays like a

[01:27:43] PS2 game. Graphically it's not that great graphically but it's not meant to be groundbreaking but it's more clever than he would think. It's scrapped on an adventure and you're like oh what how would involved could that be?

[01:28:06] More than you would think because it's there's like really clever puzzles and like secrets and collectibles. I was really surprised and I it is a short game I beat it in like two days but it was still fun. I actually keep meaning to

[01:28:25] replay it because it was I liked it that much. This is going to be easy I'm gonna go through six if I'm really fast. Just dance 2017 through 2022. Yeah I own every just dance for this switch. I also own 2023 edition the case but that came

[01:28:57] with a download code. I actually was kind of confused on how to with that because I own the physical case it's on the shelf but it's I own it digitally. So I eventually I compromised not really compromised. I listed it in the digital

[01:29:18] section just dance 2020 through edition because it is the digital version. I have just dance 2022 the card in the system so I can play that and I can play 2023 edition without having to take that out. So like it's a digital copy even though

[01:29:38] I owned the case so it's I knew it was going to be digital but I decided to buy the quote unquote physical edition just to own the case so now I have all the cases for all the switch versions kind of that complete the collection. Also

[01:30:03] for some reason I don't understand this the digital version on the e-shop was $60 because of course it was but the physical edition and Amazon and GameStop I never were else $40 be cuz reasons I don't know. Anyway continuing

[01:30:26] I've got LA Newar which again I'm surprised that's on there it's not that it's it's a really good game. It's a great game. It's just it is kind of random that it's on there. Like it wasn't that popular like Rockstar calls it when they

[01:30:49] talk about it they say they call it a franchise but it's literally one game. I think they said somewhere like the plan on making a series out of it like making more of those but after all these years they've still only got the one game

[01:31:08] but it's a franchise I don't know anyway oh yeah so really quick a frame move on my one big complaint with LA norm they recreated in 1940s LA I think it was 40s might have been 50s I think it was 40s anyway they recreated

[01:31:34] LA and it's Rockstar so you think open world and technically it is open world but you can't really explore it I mean technically you can but your partner the whole time is acting like Navi because he's like hey we got a case we got to be

[01:31:57] working on coal and it's like I just want to explore the city it's like we got the wish wish you go and tearing anytime that witness coal I'm sorry I just want to explore the city it's shut up so I mean it's technically open world but like

[01:32:21] kind of nudges you towards doing the mission it's like there should be like an in between talking in GTA after the mission is done you know when you're between missions you can basically explore at your leisure which you can technically do

[01:32:38] that your an mission sometimes but like in here in this one in LA norm you know you solve a case it goes to the next case automatically and there is no between

[01:32:50] cases but again it is a good game I really like it I play it in black and white mode there's a black and white mode and I like playing it in that mode and I've seen people like I posted gameplay footage just me playing it a long time

[01:33:10] ago and there were people that were commenting like what do you play in black and white mode that's so boring I mean it kind of makes it different it takes place in the 40s and you get to play it in black and white and it kind of makes

[01:33:27] it more authentic like you're watching an actual film noir interactive film no it's it's it's a feature it's it's kind of like with like Assassin's Creed Odyssey there's the option to have like the exploration mode or instead of you know they give

[01:33:51] you the they give you a quest and instead of just pinning it on the map like this is where you gotta go you gotta use you have to use like context clues to figure out

[01:34:01] exactly where you need to go you can toggle that off a few want but like it makes the game different so I toggle it on it's like why not anyway moving on legend is Zelda breath

[01:34:17] of the wild legend is Zelda links to Awakening and Link so I mean legend is Zelda Skyward Sword HD three Zelda games like a Star Wars the Skywalker saga that one

[01:34:37] I've played a little I kind of forgot that I had the physical version I knew I owned it but I thought I owned the digital version but it's here on the list so it must be I have

[01:34:51] so many digital copies I don't remember what all I have unless I'm looking at the list Mario Kart 8 Deluxe that one in the way I had Mario new Super Mario Bros. you Deluxe I've that's another one I forgot I have physically Pokemon Legend Arcus

[01:35:14] I've already discussed that Super Mario 3D All Stars I bought it before the deadline and it's still available a target so you know limited edition no it wasn't Super Mario 3D world-placed balance is fury that one I had to get I had to get that one

[01:35:41] Super Mario Maker 2 that one is my second most played game my number one most played game is animal crossing new horizons I have like 1500 hours on that game and

[01:35:57] Super Mario Maker 2 I have half that and it's still my second place game so that's how much I play animal crossing this Super Mario Odyssey because again I said I had that and finally Yoshi's crafted the world

[01:36:15] which I always like the Yoshi games I know people talk crap about it but like I actually really like them and this is this one is similar to you know like the N64 game

[01:36:28] Yoshi's okay I um Yoshi's story Yoshi's Island I get them I think Yoshi's Island was the one on in 64 and then Yoshi's story was the one with baby Mario this one is like Yoshi's Island but different like stylistically different and like different mechanics but like gameplay-wise it's similar

[01:36:54] and I really liked that one and I really liked this one and yeah like I actually I like all the game that have physically even though I never I okay I played borderlands on Xbox I should have said that earlier I played borderlands on Xbox and borderlands too

[01:37:17] I just haven't touched my copy on Switch that's that's what I meant I just realized that that I didn't specify that it like so why did you buy this if you've never

[01:37:31] because I know that I like some I I like the borderland games which is why when I sell them on Switch I bought it and usually I only buy the big games physically because of the storage thing

[01:37:53] but sometimes I'll buy like with the I-shade's game that one that one's that's like one of these is not like the others that one could have been a digital purchase I again I don't remember like

[01:38:11] I don't remember buying it or why or where but I own it so wait actually I am curious so I just looked on my Amazon orders I did not buy Ice Age on there so I I obtained it some

[01:38:34] other way I don't remember how or when I got it so yeah I'm sure one day it will come to me somebody that would be like do you remember when I gave you the United States game and I'd be like

[01:38:52] yeah you're the one that's like I don't know I probably bought it in person actually now that I think about I think I did buy it at the store a store I don't remember

[01:39:06] Walmart maybe I think I I don't remember I get really bothering me that I don't remember where I got that but anyway this this episode's going a lot longer than I intended it to

[01:39:23] so I will I will say this in regards to do a cons yes that is that is a ruptured change of I just gave you topic with flash I don't I I mostly use my Joycons for just dance now

[01:39:41] I mostly use a pro controller a friend of mine gave me a Zelda Pro controller which if you watch if you watch switch force he he once said there's no Zelda Pro controller

[01:39:56] which makes no sense because I own a Zelda Pro controller so yeah I don't really use the Joycons for you know normal gameplay anymore yeah I just use the pro controller the

[01:40:16] for the for just dance I actually have this these like wrist straps things that you put the Joycons and there's a youtuber she does just dance videos her name is soiocosy I she actually I saw that in with and her videos she was wearing these restraps

[01:40:45] and I thought oh that is so clever because like I have to hold the Joycons and it actually kind of makes the dancing hard and like it's they're kind of inaccurate and it was very frustrating because

[01:40:57] I'm following exactly what the coach is doing on the screen and it's saying good good good okay and I'm like come on I just have exactly what you did and so like I messaged her and was like hey

[01:41:11] where did you get your things and then she sent me the Amazon link and I bought them I bought the exact pair that she has and now it's like perfect perfect super yes and so like there was just

[01:41:26] really hard song on just in 2022 and it was just a little bit of a shame yeah that one was like really hard I could never I had only got like two stars and so like with with with with the wrist straps

[01:41:43] I was able to get like four stars and I kept practicing practicing practicing practicing and I finally got mega star which I don't know if you don't play just dance it goes one to five star

[01:41:58] and then once you hit five star it goes the super star and then mega star that's the highest level and I finally got that with Shandalir using the wrist straps so I took a picture of that screen

[01:42:10] so the costume was like thank you and she's like hard of a message with like it means a lot so yeah like I had the only use I don't really use the joy cons now but yeah I think

[01:42:33] well that's all I could think of for this episode for now I might do with another episode on the switch or some other aspect of the gaming world at another time but for now I will end this here have a good
